travel: mini boudoir session

mini boudoir

Mini boudoir in Paris.

Sometimes you wake up in Paris and look out the window only to see this lovely view (with the teeniest Eiffel in the distance!) and decide that you’re feeling real fancy and want to shoot a little boudoir-style session… So you put on your cute silk robe, and do the dang thing. (The you I’m talking about is me, obviously.)

I had a lot of fun taking and editing these photos, and definitely think I’ll expand on it in the future. I’d love to do something like this with a model other than myself, but I suppose I’ll deal with that when the opportunity approaches (hint hint friends)!

Paris so far as a solo explorer seems a lot like NYC, in that this place is so dang HUGE. There’s literally a cute store around every corner turn. I’m pretty sure I’ve made peace with the fact that I’ll likely be wearing all my clothes at once when I board my plane next week so I can fit presents in my suitcase.

I can see the Eiffel twinkling at night from my apartment, I’ve already embarrassed myself by accidentally speaking Spanish instead of French (“hola” is not an appropriate greeting guys), and learned that every French person clearly owns the best coat ever. Jet lag is so damn REAL though, and I’m struggling to fix it, so I’d love any advice people can suggest to overcome it! Do I just suck it up and consume copious amounts of espresso?? Deal, and risk falling asleep on the lawn of the Rodin? SOS!

Any suggestions on dealing with jet lag?
Let me know!

I love Paris. Its actually one of my favourite cities and you’re still much closer to the eiffel tower than I am 😛

I love the photos. It’s like they’re telling another story all on their own .

I was in Paris in September, but unfortunately it was near the end of my trip so I was exhausted and feel like I didn’t get the most out of my time there. I totally get the comparison to NYC though, I’m obsessed with New York! London also has the same feel, I guess that’s a world class city for ya 😉

I love Paris, even though surprisingly almost every person I know who has been there hates it. I go back to France every year to at least spend Christmas with my BF’s family, and every year I MUST stop by Paris – I can’t miss that city enough! And yes, I agree about the every person in Paris has a good coat. MY BF isn’t Parisian, but even then, his coat from Carrefour also looks très chic!

I think this is a lovely mini shoot, and how exciting to do it in Paris! I have always wanted to do a Boudior shoot, there is a lady in a nearby city that does them, and I am hoping one day I will be able to get them done.

Sounds like you’re having a blast! I did a boudoir shoot a few months back. It was the most empowering experience! More people should do them!

I think the photos turned out great! I love the one where you just see the bottom of the dress and your hand. So pretty!

Beautiful pictures! When I’m jet-lagged I try to stay awake and adjust to local time for the first couple of days!
It’s not easy but your get around it after some time.
    Cheers,
    T.
