I promised that I planned on getting more personal here, and part of that means I want to share more of me (duh). I’m not going to stop with my DIY or recipe posts, but I see no reason why I can’t expand to share even more!
My boyfriend had expressed interest in potentially learning how to use a camera a couple times since we’ve been together (particularly because I collect cameras), and I figured why not take advantage of the opportunity? I mean, everyone wants an “instagram boyfriend” right?!? I kid, I kid (but, seriously). It really gives you a lot more leeway in what you share when you have someone else that knows how to set up a shot properly, or is just able to get you on the move in a way that a tripod really can’t. Ya feel? Despite some teeth pulling, I’d say his first real effort at helping me with my vision was a success!
So sometimes your friends make really rad items and after spending a year silently lusting over them, the stars align with a sale AND only one more of said item available, which obviously means you have to buy it. Such was definitely the case with this Leela Moto backpack by my friend Lindsay over at Sticks+Stones.
I’ve been eyeing this bag since I first met her, but could never bring myself to make the jump for it, and now I wish I’d done it sooner! The bag’s asymmetry (a hidden magnet keeps the shape!) and studs give it a little edge, and the solid zip enclosure as well as all the inner pockets make it safe enough to wear to the club. It’s also pretty deep inside there, which is great for someone like me who feels the need to constantly have everything I own in whatever bag I’m carrying (seriously, I might need 4 lipsticks and two notebooks ok).
Plus, I kiiiind of love that I can throw it on with an outfit as simple as black skinny jeans and a nude top and still look put together.
(Note: I wasn’t compensated for this post in any way, I just think it’s important to support your friends!)
Sometimes on days like yesterday you accidentally sleep till 4pm, and despite feeling like you’ve wasted the whole day away, you remember that Daylight Savings has started so you throw on your comfiest simple go-to outfit and take a walk with your boyfriend that turns into a photo teaching, bowling, poutine eating adventure.
Sometimes mother nature blesses you with some early Spring weather so you ditch your coat and the winter blues and you (and your boy) spend the day walking across the city.
I can’t wait until it’s this beautiful all the time again, but ’til then, here’s to seizing the day!
