Halloween is just around the corner, and because it took until mid-October for the weather to kind of catch up to the season here in Philly, it’s been hard to get into the “spooky” mood. Not only does it feel like summer out there, it doesn’t make sense that we’re at the end of the year. How? What?!? To help us get into the Halloween spirit, my friends and I took a trip to Linvilla Orchards yesterday to snag some pumpkins and check out the festivities. I used to go with family when I was a kid, and I definitely remember the maze being much bigger!
I’m pretty sure the highlight of our day was the apple launcher, but getting to feed and pet deer came in at a close second. Y’all, their noses are nothing like any animal’s nose I’ve seen before. Scroll down for a few photos from the trip, and a little list I put together for ya!
Another major part of Halloween besides pumpkins are scary movies. I’m a giant weenie and hate dealing with suspense (seriously, I will beg you to ruin what’s about to happen for me). So, instead of sharing my top “creepy movies that’ll leave you with nightmares” list, I put together a list of 20 of my favorite kind-of-witchy, a-little-vampire-y, maybe some-nice-dead-people spooky movies. Basically, a list of spooky movies for people who don’t like being scared.
They’re not in a particular order, but I suggest at least adding The Nightmare Before Christmas, Interview with a Vampire, and Hocus Pocus to your viewing queue.

21. Ghost Busters! Great list. I don’t care for the super scary movies.

oooh, good addition! x
Linvilla Orchards looks like a blast, and a perfect place to spend a nice autumn afternoon with family and/or friends. I love the fun looking pumpkins! As for the movies, I’m also not a fan of scary movies at all. I’m that one person that audibly gasps when something pops out and it’s not even a scary movie! So I definitely appreciate this list…I have to watch The Nightmare Before Christmas. I’ve heard so much about it, and know some characters, but I haven’t seen it…yet!
